The most difficult compositions

"I have continually been asked, "What is the most difficult composition?" The question always amuses me, but I suppose it is very human and in line with the desire to measure the highest building, the tallest mountain, the longest river or the oldest castle. Why is such a premium put upon mere difficulty? Strange to say, no one ever seems to think it necessary to inquire, "What is the most beautiful piece?" "Difficulty in music should by no means be estimated by technical complications. To play a Mozart concerto well is a colossally difficult undertaking.
The pianist who has worked for hours to get such a composition as near as possible to his conception of perfection is never given the credit for his work, except
by a few connoisseurs, many of whom have been through a similarly exacting experience. Months may be spent upon comparatively simple compositions, such as the Haydn Sonatas or the Mozart Sonatas, and the musical public is blind to the additional finish or polish so evident to the virtuoso."

W.A.Mozart Ave verum corpus

Recently I have read that an unknown work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart found in a library in Nantes. Actually it is not a complete work but only a page from unknown work and it is supposed this could be a sheet of some Mozart’s composition, probably a Mass. The reason of experts’ confidence is their identification of Mozart’s handwriting. Currently around 100 Mozart’s autographs are known. Well, I can only imagine how much this sheet cost could! I think it is priceless. The only regret is that only a little fragment of Mozart’s composition was found, but not complete Mass. Perhaps it would be even more outstanding than his Requiem. As did one of experts say this work also is supposed to be written shortly before his death.

Other well known Mozart’s choral work is Ave verum corpus. This work was written at the time when his wife Constanze was pregnant with their sixth child.

Requiem sheet music

Requiem is the last composition of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. There are many strange stories about creation of Requiem. Some of them even say Mozart was sure that he is writing Requiem for his own funeral. Well, who knows what did he think and feel writing this great music…? Sometimes it seems to me this music is absolutely mystic and coming from the other world. It would be certainly great to hear this serious stupendous work in a concert hall.
